In a future blog I will share more of our travel experiences in Kathmandu but I am deliberately keeping this short. Most people in Kathmandu know someone who died, were injured or were deeply affected by the earthquake of 2015. Last summer Lynne and I held a garden party to raise funds for the Nepal earthquake victims. The money we raised was sent to support the work of the International Nepal Fellowship. At our church, St John's and St Luke's Together, we support the work of our Church Missionary Society partners Dan and Phillipa Munday. We met up with them for a couple of hours during our stay in Kathmandu. They expressed the importance of continued prayer for Nepal.
I hope that viewing these photographs will motivate you to remember and pray for the people of Nepal. It is so easy for places devastated by natural disasters to go 'out of the news'. I pray that you will join me in hoping for a safe and better future for everyone in Nepal.
*** Today I have uploaded a gallery entitled 'Faces of Kathmandu' in 'Photographs' on my website 'Beyond the Sacred Mountains'.
