Just a quick blog to inform you that if you visit my new website 'Beyond the Sacred Mountains' you will see I have uploaded some photographs of the 'northern lights' I took on our trip to northern Finland in February 2014. They are located in the 'Photographs' section of my website. We were staying in the remote village of Nellim in the Inari wilderness above the Arctic Circle. During the day we enjoyed snow activities such as cross-country skiing, snow-shoe hiking, snowmobiling and husky dog sledding. The evenings were spent watching the awesome 'northern lights'. I used my Nikon D5100 with wide-angle lens mounted on a tripod even though the temperatures were -10C! The most exciting evening was when we went far out onto the frozen wastes of Inari on snowmobiles. The stars and the milky-way were incredible but when the 'northern lights' appeared it was totally breathtaking!!!
I have also uploaded a new selection of pages from my Israel 2015 journal. They are located in 'Travel Journals'. We were so fortunate to join a pilgrimage group from Mowbray Community Church in Harrogate, led by Pastor Dave Bolton, on a visit to the Holy Land from the 2nd to 12th of November 2015. It was a spiritually exciting and very moving travel experience. There are photos of this journey in 'Photographs' on the website.
I am very happy if anyone wishes to contact me either through comments on my blog or via email using the 'contact' page.
